Broken Links to tunes in History Sessions

One of the recent App updates for dJay 2 or an iTunes import broke (dimmed out, making unaccessible) access to all the tunes in all history sessions. Has anyone experienced this or have any solutions? All the tunes are there so it suggests a potential bug.

Have any Algo staff experienced this issue? thanks

Are any support staff able to comment on this / is it a known issue?
thanks

Can staff PLEASE comment on this?

The issue causes nearly all tracks in history to be inaccessible, breaking a very useful regularly used feature!
In additional when a track cannot be found offer a simple option to the select the track in the library and replace the broken link.

thanks

HI, this happens in the latest version of the iPad App. Video walkthru not necessary.

This happens only to playlists stored in the history and it happens when you sync new songs from iTunes to the iPad.

Key question is why is a track dimmed out? if you do a search in the App for the same track you find it.

So, play some tunes, then sync from iTunes and repeat. You may see the same issue.

Allow dimmed out entries to be located and corrected.

Hi guys,

we are very sorry to hear that. Can you please provide an exemplary video of the issue and tell us the exact djay version, iOS version and iOS device you are working with?

Thank you in advance, we will do our best in order to provide a solution as fast as possible.

Working on the mentioned thread separately as you are referring to the Mac version (this thread is about the iOS).

Cheers,
Lukas E.

Same issue over here, Alex. Not only in HISTORY SESSIONS but also in local playlists.

Ah, thanks. Overlooked that this was an iPad thread. Thanks for clarifying.

you might be facing a different issue here. Just double checking: did u make sure the songs are downloaded in the iPad’s Music app? Bc if not they will show up greyed out. But once you download them in there they should show in the DJ app.

Back on May 22nd of 2014, Algoriddem and Spotifiy announced their partnership. This was a merger to increase revenue for both parties, followed by Algoriddems update to the DJay 2 app. shorty after.

The reason for the update, as it was claimed to be at that time, was for fixes to some completely made up issues with the app. But I have done some investigating and have found that there were really no issues with the app. The real reason for the update was to introduce Spotify into the app., in order for Algoriddem and Spotify to introduce a new marketing scheme to gain access to everyone’s music files but more specifically their secession histories.

They completely lied about the so call issues and their real intent behind the update. I am in a digital record pool which I pay a fee each month to be a part of. I have been a DJay for 45 years, through original records, then the Serato app. on a laptop, and now DJay 2 on iPad. I did not need a music source, but many others using the app. did, and Algoriddem and Spotify took complete advantage of that!

My DJay partner and I avoided this update for the past four and a half years because we knew that there was something suspicious about it, we never encountered any of the so said problems with the original version. Now I have upgraded to a new generation six iPad and when I initialized it, the new version of the DJay 2 app. was automatically installed. But my original history on the old iPad was only reflected with a transfer of the history from April 20th 2014 to July 2nd 2014 onto the new iPad, all the history should have all been transferred. I contacted Algoriddem back in mid August this year about the issue and they told me they were working to fix it.

They have played me for stupid since then and keep giving me excuses about the developers working on that fix, but in the mean while telling me I should save my history secession’s thru Spotify.

Because of my participation in a record pool, I did not need or want Spotify. Apple, also this entire time has been working with me to fix the issue. Just this past week, because of the amount of time Algoriddem had been putting me off, one of their supervisors suggested that I update the DJay 2 version on my old iPad to match the updated version of the app on the new iPad, which I was reluctant to do, but did because I needed to get that history onto my new iPad now for near upcoming events, I did. That was a mistake which Apple is now holding themselves accountable for. I had to erase the last other third party app. on my older iPad other than the DJay 2 app. along with a great deal of my music stored on that iPad to make room for the update. Not only did it not work, but now I have encountered the same problems as mentioned in a forum sponsored by Algoriddem and on my new iPad using the updated version of the app, which it was forced to take. Now Algoriddem and Spotify have stolen my history on the old iPad and changed all the settings associated with the tracks, which is a violation of my privacy rights and has caused all kinds of issues with the mixing and the syncing of my music while using the updated app. on the old iPad.

I have hundreds of secession’s in my history and do not plan to go back and forward from my history to my play list to reestablish my history secession’s as well as the settings so I can play my music directly from my history at my future events to make things easy on myself; I do not have the hundreds of hours needed to repeat my secession’s, so Mr. Lucas E., who represents Algoriddem, and Spotify are going to be taken to Civil Court by me concerning this matter, the suit will be filed later this week.

They have completely lied about so call issues with the original version of DJay 2, are using users history playlist for their own money making means, and are causing too many crazy issues with using the updated application. Apple is also aware of all the issues, not only from me but others who have complained to them, and is claiming they do not have the ability to control the third party applications they support, but still sell those apps. in their stores; they will also be included as a contributor in the suit. My email correspondences with Mr. Lucas E. and Apple are very incriminating, and so is the information provided by others in Algoriddem’s forums!

On top of these issues, I cannot join the Algoriddem forums to warn others, because their website is marked as an “Unsafe Website” on my computer, and it will not allow my comments to be transferred to their website.

That’s a lie!!,

Algorridim is not working on a solution, the are lying! If Spotify doesn’t have rights to a track it was erased from your history and you cannot get it back until they do. If you have purchased the track from your own source, it will be erased from your history but not your playlist.

For me this means I have to spend hundreds of hours to do do my sessions over again to use my my playlist at my party functions as I did before. On top of that every time I do a new session, I must schrol down all the way through all my sessions to see the last, I have hundreds of sessions. Why are the waisting my time like that and taking away from the joy I originally paid for?

Algoriddim lied back in 2014, when they said they had an update to “fix bugs,” because there were none. It was all done for them to merge with Spotify and they did not tell user of that fact.

They have cause me a great deal of pain, unhappiness, and loss of money through their greed. What in the $#@$ were they thinking about???

This is the reason why I have them in court now, they took advantage of a good thing, lied about the app. update to users, and for that they will pay!!!

Guys my advised to you is to not be connected on your device in any manner to the internet when you open the app. and while using it,this is if you can work from your own library. You will be subjected to Spotify’s limitations if you do. As far as the history of sessions go, now our most recent session is at the bottom of the list instead of the top. I must scroll through all my session to see what I did last and my first ever session is somewhere in the middle, with all the following sessions before the update above it until you get to the first after the update, which is right under the first session. All sessions after the first one done after the update are under that until you get to the last at the bottom. It’s an absolute mess.

Hopefully Karim Morsy the inventor of the DJay 2 app., who by the way in an email to me says he is willing to help to rectify the situation, will find a way to fix all the issues.
