Play music on external HDD on Android tablet

I can’t find my music on HDD connected by OTG. I can see it via tablet file explorer but can’t navigate to it in djay2

I can play it in that app if i browse to the folder on the HDD and then click on it then the song will play in Google Play Music or in VLC.

I just can’t seem to browse to the directory in djay 2
