Spotify playlists in alphabetical order in djay2

I have recently put my playlist titles in alphabetical order in Spotify. How can I get iday2 to recognise the change and show the new order ?

Hi Peter,

thank you for your post.
Have you tried to Sort your Spotify Playlists by clicking on “Sort” and sort them for example by title.

If this is not helping please contact us right away.
Cheers,

Hi Peter,

have you tried sorting your playlists right in the djay 2 library? You do so by clicking on “Sort” and select “Title” for your playlist sorted in the alphabetical title order.

Cheers,
Lukas E.

Hi Peter,

sorry for the misunderstanding.
djay gets the playlist order by Spotify. This order can be changed by drag and drop for example in the Spotify Web Player at your computer. Please note that rearranging playlists is not possible at the iPad Spotify App.
Thank you and have fun mixing.

Cheers,

Hi Lukas,
Thanks for the reply, it is the play list folder titles I want in alphabetical order. I’ve switched them in Spotify but djay2 hasn’t recognised the change.

Hi Lukas, I’m not explaining myself very well, I understand the track title/bpm/key order option. It is the folder names I wish to sort in alphabetical order.

To be clear it is the folder titles to the left of the screen I wish to sort in alphabetical order.

My original Spotify playlists, which are in alphabetical order in Spotify, are also in the same alphabetical order in djay 2. I’ve since created some new playlists in Spotify after I’ve been using djay 2 and they’re alphabetical in Spotify, but not in djay 2. They’re at the top of the list, before the original ones that are in alphabetical order.

Hopefully this will sort itself out at some point when I next launch the app, but it’s a shame you can’t sort your playlists within djay 2, when you can sort the songs within them separately to Spotify.

I solved this on djay 2 on my iPad after I noticed my newly created playlists also appeared in the same order above the previously sorted alphabetical ones on the desktop version of Spotify and the same could be seen in the custom sort order on my Android devices.

Once I rearranged my custom sort order on the desktop app, as I couldn’t see a way to do this on Android, the playlists appear how I want them in djay 2. Then I remembered that I manually sorted them into alphabetical order on the desktop version before I noticed the preset option in the Android app, so djay 2 looks at your custom sort order and doesn’t use the preset ones.

TL;DR: djay 2 uses your custom playlist sort order from the Spotify app, so make sure you sort this the way you want them to appear in djay 2.
