I'm having problem showing artist names while connected through Spotify. Recently song artist names are using special characters to display names. This is extremely annoying especially when cuing songs and you have multiple songs with the same names but different artists. Has anyone had this issue or have a solution?

Hi Jesse,
we are aware of this problem but till now were not able to reproduce the issue. That is why we would need any information you can give us about your setup, your mixing routine, when the artists are being displayed in different languages, if you changed your Mac's language at any time etc.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers,Lukas E.

I use the latest version of OSX and Djay pro from a MacBook around 3 years old. I use a pioneer ddjsx2 when mixing. The artist names appear in English while using Spotify alone. Only with Djay pro are when they are in foreign characters. I know for sure Drake is always in foreign characters. I've never changed my language on my computer.

Thank you, is it possible that they are only shown in foreign language in playlists you created by yourself?

I am also having this issue. There is no clear pattern, I have several playlists pulled direct from Spotify, some have only a couple of songs displaying foreign characters others it's nearly all of them. I even have some songs with more than one artists listed and one will be in English one will be in Chinese.
I have never changed the language on my Mac, Spotify or Djay Pro.

I have the same problem thou I have not changed the settings.
I've had this problem for 1 month now.
I have not done any updates to my MacBook Pro or DJPro.
Just one day this problem occurred in Spotify playlists I created or the ones I'm following.
Also if I search songs in DJ Pro.
OS X ver. 10.9.5
Processor - 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory - 10GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Update - Upgrading to MacOS Sierra corrected the Japanese character issue. Not sure why I had to update the OS to get it to correct since it was working fine with my last OS and then all of a sudden changed. But it is now in English.
