Djay 2 vs Djay 1 for iPad + IDJ Pro

Longtime user of Djay 1 for iPad + IDJ Pro.

I bought Djay 2 but have been hesitant to use it + IDJ Pro to play out since I cannot afford it to crash, be buggy, etc.

Can those who have played with both version + IDJ Pro speak to the stability, bug issues, etc, or any other reason that using Djay 2 instead will cause problems.

I have only seen one update from Algoriddim to Djay 2 for iPad since it launched, so I am worried there are still significant issues/bugs/crash liabilities that will mess up my set.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your honest feedback, though I am sorry to hear about the issues.

Can you please explain the problems you’ve encountered a bit further? What problems did you notice when using iDJ Pro with djay 2?
Also, we’ve just released djay 2.0.2 with stability improvements. Can you please verify if the app still “bombs out to the main springboard”?

Great to hear that. Thanks for posting Eduardo.

I used both verslons with the idjpro. Unfortunately I experienced soms problems with djay 2: when leading a new track the one playing on the other deck sometimes had a short interruption :frowning:
While waiting for a solution, i starten to use djay 1 again.

Hi All,

I two have bought DJay 2 and DJay for iPhone.
Straight away glitches and bugs started to emerge of which I was surprised about.
I have had the software bomb out to the main springboard several times as well as many problems with the software itself.

I’m not a particular fan of the new library selection being the main ipod selection screen. I would prefer also seeing more of the track title as per the current shortened layout.

Syncing or more keeping sync is crap and I don’t like the fact that you no HAVE to have High-Precision Analysis now whereas this was optional in DJay. This has slowed loading time down massively and also I never found it to be a worth while feature as I found it to be more accurate with out than with… If fact there are alot of optional features removed making the software less durable and makes the settings menus look rather empty compared to DJay’s.

Yes, DJay 2 has a lot more features to Djay but I don’t like it I’m sad to say…

These comments are all BEFORE I plug in to my iDJ Pro Controller…

My word! Throw the dog bone! In fact, throw your Pro for all its worth Running DJay 2. I would not attempt to GIG running DJay 2 at all.
I’m not impressed that you now longer can even access / buy DJay in the App Store anymore. Only DJay 2 is available. OH Dear!

Algoriddim, what have you done or what are you doing???

Chris

I just bought the idjpro in december, and have beenm using it solely with djay 2. not a single problem so far. it works flawlessly.
