How do I load music onto my ipad and find it using djay?

Hi there

Sorry for the “noob” question but I would like to use the djay app on my ipad pro as a “back-up” for my denon dj controller but don’t want to have to rely purely on Spotify in case I do not have any internet access.

Is there an easy way to load a selection of maybe 500 mp3s onto my iPad and be able to access them through the djay app please?

Thanks

DJ Gaz

iTunes is not dead yet. I still use it to add music

Great answer.
But I will say out of a few hundred songs only 1 was DRM protected for me.

store the mp3 files on your ipad ie ‘files’ folder, when loading a track choose ‘MyLibrary’ in ie the top left 2 deck view, then select ‘music’, songs will probably show as ‘0’ but select from the drop down and you can then add the tracks from ‘files’
you can create your own playlists and sort by various functions too

YOU NEED A ITUNES ACOUNT PLUS A ICLOUD ACOUNT IT WONT WORK WITH OUT THESE. PLUS YOU MUST SELECT THE --XML— TAB IN PREFRENCES IN ITUNES
THIS WILL OPEN ALL YOUR MUSIC ON DJAY PRO VIA ITUNES ICON PLAYLIST ON YOUR DJAY PRO IF YOU HAVE CD’S UPLOAD THE MUSIC TO OUR ITUNES
—DO NOT BUY ITUNES MUSIC IT IS ALL ---- DRM PROTECTED---- THEY WONT PLAY ON DJAY PRO.
DJ. THE RIDDLER?

You can either save them to the djay folder in Files, or (I’d recommend) setting them up as iTunes/Music playlists via the desktop app.

Only the iTunes XML collection system has been removed. the iTunes app is now separated into Music, Podcasts, and TV. Functionally, it’ll be the same as ever to import and manage music, there just won’t be an external file that other apps can access. It’s all done with a API.

Thanks David for your reply

But how do I load mp3 tracks into the “files” directory on my iPad?

Thanks DanM for your reply

I thought iTunes was “finished” now?
