The auto select feature should select all decks NOT in focus for main out. Most of the time it does this. The logic appears to be tied to the position of the left right slider and NOT necessarily which deck is in focus. It works fine based on the assumption that there are are only 2 decks.
However in a four deck display I can make decks 1 and 2 auto pre-cueing the main out. To demonstrate, set deck one to be configured as right, set deck two can be figured left. You will notice the auto select pre-cue selects the main deck playing and not the pre-cue one.
Decks 3 and 4 seem to be not effect at all no matter which is in focus. I would expect any deck not capable of playing on main to be auto pre-cued instead of just making deck 1&2 assumptions based on the slider.
