Spin 2 controller

Hi. Got a spin 2 controller but it’s not connecting to my iPad 2. I am iOS 9.2. The controller works on my laptop with different software and there doesn’t seem to be a problem with my iPads dock connection. Any ideas on what’s wrong

do you have the possibility to connect the Spin 2 to another iOS device? That would be a nice information, thank you in advance.

Oh thought I would add that it charges when plugged in and the original power supply is plugged in to the controller
