If I buy the splitter cable for djay app do I need to use a speaker itself for one deck or can I still use my iPad as the speaker? Then obviously my headphones for the other deck.

If you use the split cable with djay then you will NOT be able to use the built-in speakers simultaneously.
You can use both.
