Unplayable DRM protected track?

I have just downloaded an album from itunes to my ipad (itunes match not enabled). Two of the album's tracks are playable but one of them is not due to being DRM protected.

How is this possible? What can I do to get around this? Sadly, this was the track I bought the album for :(

Hi Carlos,

Sorry to hear that. It seems like more people encounter this problem recently. We are already investigating this issue.

Is it an "album only" track? Which album did you buy?

In the meantime, you can check whether restarting the iPad helps.

Also, please find one of the songs in iTunes on your Mac/PC, ctrl-click on it and select "Get Info...". Please upload a screenshot of the "Summary" tab.

Hi Warren,

Thanks for the quick reply.

It is indeed and album-only track. The album is called ''Myrddin'' by Roddy Reynaert. The track in question is called Shovelhead.

Restarting did not help and at this point I am using my ipad stand-alone :(

Hi Carlos,

Try converting it to .mp3 using iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550

I have this same problem. Only it's for all of my previously purchased songs from itunes. I can't play a single one in djay. I tried to convert to mp3 but it give me an error message that I cant\'t because it's a protected track. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Eric,

If you're not allowed to convert the songs in iTunes then this means that you do have DRM-protected songs, which are not supported with djay. Sorry.

Every track in my iTunes appears to be DRM protected when I try to play it on the app. Can this be solved? Surely I can't have to convert my entire library? Could iTunes Match be affecting this as I do use it?

Please advise as I don't want to leave bad feedback on what seems to be a great app.

Hi,

Hope you enjoyed the holidays.

It seems that there are actually different issues that have the same "effect" -> you can't load (some) songs.

(a) "Album only" songs purchased in the iTunes Store that have a ".m4p" file extension. The only workaround for this type of problem is to convert the songs to a different format, e.g. using iTunes on a Mac/PC and then re-sync the converted songs to your device: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550

(b) There also seems to be an issue with "normal" iTunes Store songs where though the songs have been downloaded to the device, it still cannot be played with djay. The workaround here is to re-sync the songs via iTunes on your Mac/PC to your device. If you're using iTunes Match, you can also try the following:
- disable iTunes Match
- enable iTunes Match
- restart your device
- download the songs again: http://help.algoriddim.com/customer/p...

Note: the steps will delete all songs that have been previously downloaded to your device but this should not be an issue since you're using iTunes Match anyway.

If none of the above helps or applies to your case, please let me know.

When I pull up the library on djay, it says that some of the songs I purchased on another account are still DRM protected even though I have authorized this ipad to use the songs.

These songs play just fine in itunes on this ipad. Why won't they play in djay???

These same files will play on my Mac, but will not play on my Iphone version of Djay despite the fact these files no longer exist ( upgraded to 256 kbs drm free). What am I doing wrong here?

I have a solution - delete ALL music data stored in the iPhones memory - Settings - General - Usage - Music -Edit then delete. Reload from the Cloud after upgrading to DRM free/iTunes Match or resync via iTunes. After this all my songs and albums function with djay.
