I’ve bought myself a Pioneer XDJ-RX2 and a license for djay Pro 2 but I have to say the compatibility is a huge disappointment.
According to the Algoriddim website the XDJ-RX2 is natively supported but once connected only half of the controller possibilities are available.
Not only does there nothing happen on the Pioneer LCD-screen (no track id, no waveform, bpm,… just nothing) but even the VU-meters seem to work with a latency. You have to play with the channel gain a little bit to get the VU meter going.
All the built-in effects on the controller (delay, echo, spiral, reverb, roll,…) are not working. When you press the effect button you only hear a “flanger-like” effect.
Same situation for the built-in color effects. The only effect you get from this knob is a “filter-like” effect.
Hot cues, beat loops, slip loops and beat jumps work properly.
The Spotify integration is perfect. Thank you for that!
When you have a high-end controller like the XDJ-RX2 with pro features you suspect the same from the software. I really hope Algoriddim steps up their game with a new update for the XDJ-RX2.
