AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ Support

Really good question this. All depends as well if the AZ device is class compliant. That I’m not sure of. Hopefully it is. Be class if it is and they get the screens to work.

Yeah. Unfortunately no answers on the web neither. It’s what’s holding me back from getting an AZ.

Appears to be class compliant with Mac OS. Does this mean it’s class compliant for iOS to? I don’t know be good to know though.

Drivers & Firmware

The AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ is class-compliant on macOS but requires manufacturer-specific drivers when
used with Windows operating systems.

Not sure if true but……

Yes, the XDJ-AZ is class compliant for iOS, meaning you can use it with your iPhone or iPad by connecting it via USB and utilizing the “rekordbox for iOS” app to manage and play music from your device on the XDJ-AZ; you can use the Link Export feature from rekordbox for Mac/Windows or iOS/Android to transfer playlists and track information to the device.

Key points about XDJ-AZ and iOS compatibility:

  • Software compatibility:

The XDJ-AZ works with the “rekordbox for iOS” app, allowing you to control the unit directly from your iOS device.

So. In theory. Could IT work with djay pro too? The important part is that it is compatible as an audio interface. The midi mapping we can do ourselves.

I think it will be if compatible with Rekordbox iOS.

Yes. But shouldn’t it work for djpro. If it’s Ios class compliant. Or is it restricted for specific apps too?

Anyone have an AZ? And can test?

That will be a no then

@Jay_Dizzle and @Dysfunk_DJ, I don’t have access to an AZ to confirm, but from all the checking I’ve done online, it seems the AZ is audio class compliant and MIDI class compliant so it should work with iOS. Obviously I cannot guarantee this though. It might be best to reach out to AlphaTheta to confirm before purchasing. Or buy from a shop with a good return policy. I hope that helps!

Virtual dj just added official support for thre AZ. Let’s hope algorithm are working on theirs.

To be honest, I’m not sure why you would want to use az with software. If I was to get one I’d probably just have as standalone.

Well that’s simple I want a setup for my home studio. Where I can hook up an play in all formats that I want. With the AZ I can practice cdj for those gigs. Hook up djpro if I want to. For other types of gig.

Awesome. Do you think you’ll get one? I am tempted……

Well. I want to. It would be perfect as a center piece. But the Ios support is crucial for me. We will find out soon enough
