Anyone using a RANE ONE with iPad

Anyone using a RANE ONE with iPad experiencing audio drop outs? I ran 5.3 last week and noticed quite a few.

Specs

  • RANE ONE
  • USB cable connected directly to USB C port of iPad
  • Power plugged into Apple Magic Keyboard
  • Apple iPad Pro (3rd Generation) A2377 Tablet - 11" - Apple M1
  • iOS 18.4
  • All tracks were local, not streamed
  • Bluetooth and WiFi was OFF
  • If I rewinded the track and played the same part the dropouts were not there

I would try using a hub with more power delivery. Not sure, but maybe the Apple keyboard pass through doesn’t have enough power.

Hi @Wirelessdj, thanks for the details about your setup and the issue - this is very helpful!

  1. Make sure your iPad is charging normally when connected to the RANE One and Magic Keyboard
  2. Try removing the Apple Magic Keyboard from the equation and connecting with a high quality USB-C hub as @DJ_A_Diffrance suggested above. Connect your original, genuine iPad charger to the USB-C hub.
  3. Try using a different USB-C to C cable, ideally with dual ferrites on either end.
