Has anyone tried the new Audacity yet?

I am liking the new interface and dark theme, although you can revert to the light interface if you prefer. The editing workflow has improved:

  • New split tool.
  • Clips been able to be dropped anywhere.
  • Select multiple clips, then move, trim or stretch them as one.
  • Select your clips and choose “Group clips” from the right-click menu. The group moves, trims, and stretches as one until you ungroup it.
  • Switch on the envelope tool and click to add points along a clip. Drag them to set the clip’s gain, and it stays with the clip when you move or copy it.
  • Trim and stretch handles.
  • Per track metering.
  • Markers and regions.
  • Loop region controls.

This is just a short list taken from their website.

Audacity is great if you need to make edits to a track or a set you have recorded.

Awesome! I use Audacity to clean my tracks. I use Reverse, Wah-Wah, and 3rd party Stems separation plugin that works pretty good to remove explicit vocals.

I’m upgrading it now. It’s been a minute since I’ve used it. I switched to Reaper but I am interested to see what’s been added to Audacity.

Even on the most basic level, the UI on version 4 looks fantastic.
