Audio routing issue with DJM-V5

Hey Team,

I need to report a issue with the latest update. The software interface displays the correct audio device setting on external mixer mode, but once the DJM-V5 disconnects and reconnects again, the audio routing did not work properly (no sound on the previous routing despite it shows the correct routing, I have to change the routing of channel 3 for DJM-V5 (from output channel 5-6 to output 7-8, and then switch it back to output channel 5-6) in order for it to work again. It seems like all routing reset to default via the latest update despite displaying my previous setting.

Could you please explain how the latest update changes the behavior of the external mixer mode with the DJM-V5?

Further detail:

  1. I have the DJM-V5 and Djay Pro 5.6.6 on an iPad Pro.
  2. I have previously set it up as external mixer mode with deck 3 routed to channel 3 for the DJM-V5 (channel 5-6).
  3. Plus, sampler routed to channel 3 for the DJM-V5 (channel 5-6).
  4. Plus, looper routed to channel 3 for the DJM-V5 (channel 5-6).
  5. It worked like a charm, until I unplug from the DJM-V5 and replug again.
  6. The audio device section show all of my routings noted in point 2,3,4. But sampler and looper have no sound coming out of channel 3 of the DJM-V5.
  7. The only way to fix it is to reset the audio device by changing one of the sampler/looper routing and then changing it back to DJM-V5 (channel 5-6).
  8. This prevents me from bring the ipad to a club setting and connecting to a club mixer. If everytime I have to troubleshoot, it’s a no.

I have it all on video. Please let me know if it will be helpful, I will upload it on YT and share the link here.

Hi @HORAZE-MUSIC, welcome to the Community! Have you downloaded and installed the latest DJM-V5 firmware from the AlphaTheta website?

I just updated the DJM-V5’s firmware, but no luck. Please advise. Thanks!

Thanks for confirming @HORAZE-MUSIC. With the V5 connected to your iPad, please use the Reset To Defaults at the bottom of the djay Settings>Audio Devices. Do not adjust the Audio configuration after performing the reset. Retest after performing this and let me know if it helps or not. Thanks!

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
