Automix double loading on iPad (when using Main Queue)

  • Device model : iPad before M1
  • Version of operating system : IOS : 16.7.10
  • Version of djay : 5.2.4
  • Hardware/controllers used : Not controller related

Hello,
Automix works great on my Mac, but I have issues on my iPad, when sourcing Automix from the main Queue :

When starting with both empty decks, and a totally empty auto mix queue (including the “Up next”), Starting Automix will load the first song of the queue on both decks, and play twice the same track. This is annoying, and only happens when sourcing songs from the Main Queue, not if source for Automix is a playlist)

Illustration

First picture is both decks empty, queue completely empty, then filled with a bunch of songs, and with “Up Next” empty : clean start.

Then I click “Start Automix”.
And the second picture shows Automix has loaded both decks with the same first song. The first one is already starting. And Automix will indeed play the same song twice.

Thank you.

Hi @Davidv100,

Thanks for sharing this issue.

We were not able to reproduce this. However, our team was using iPads with iOS 17 or newer.

By any chance, would you be able to update your version of iOS and let us know whether you are still experiencing this issue?

Thanks!

Thank you @NathanielAlgo, have you been trying this with sourcing Automix on iPad from the Main Queue.
It only happens when using Automix on my iPad, and sourced from the Queue (it works fine with a playlist).

PS : Unfortunately, I would need a new iPad to upgrade to later IOS versions.

@NathanielAlgo, also, have you tried linked this issue with this other one :

I think both might be linked.

I made a video of this issue.
It also illustrates the “Song removed from queue when using Automix, even if settings ask not to do so”.

Here it is : Automix and queue - songs removed and double loading.MOV - Google Drive

I made sure it is accessible for “everyone with the link”.
Can you confirm you can download it, so I would close the link for security reasons.

Thank you.

Hi @Davidv100, this seems to be the exact same issue as the topic below. Can I go ahead and close this one?

Well,
I actually posted these issues together as Issue 1 and issue 2 in the same post in “questions”, since I thought they were linked. Then you asked me to split it in two posts, which I did.
But when I made the requested videos, they seemed again so close to me that I made a single video for both, and posted in both topics (duplicate).
It is now up to you to decide if they are indeed two symptoms of a same root cause.
Whatever your choice will be, I agree with it obviously (but please check that both symptoms are indeed disappearing when solving the root cause).

So, in short : yes
Thanks.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying @Davidv100. I was out of the office for a few days and Nathaniel was working on this one. I’ve shared both issues with engineering via the other topic so I’m going to close this one. Thanks again.
