Automix Tempo Blending when set to Sync only

What happened to the constant BPM when using Sync in Automix? I usually my BPM and there has never been a change.

I know there’s threads here talking about it, however I’ve selected Sync and it still changes BPM.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine a few days before it started happening to me.

Have been using DJ Pro for years and I’ve never had this issue in Automix. I use Automix mainly for organising a mix and casual listening. It’s incredibly frustrating and I end up scrapping DJ Pro Automix.

Am I missing something??

EDIT

I’ve just set Automix to Automatic and it’s keeping the 132bpm I’ve set. I’ve ALWAYS set it to Sync.

Is this a bug?

ANOTHER EDIT

Nope Automatic didn’t fix it

MacBook Pro M3 Pro
DJ Pro v5.3.1
Sequoia 15.3.2

iPhone 16 Pro - DJ Pro
iOS 18.4
DJ Pro v5.3.1

Hi @adrianamos, you just need to adjust your Automix Settings>Tempo Adjust from Automatic to Sync. This will maintain the BPM during transitions instead of blending it from one song to the other. We added Automic in 5.3. With this setting djay will essential keep the BPM the same during transitions unless the songs are more than 5% apart. In that case it will automatically switch to Tempo Blend.

This is what it looks like on iOS, but should be similar on macOS.

OK, the Automatic setting makes sense then.

I posted on Facebook last night that I noticed Automatic did change BPM if there was a larger difference in BPM.

As mentioned though I always set Tempo Adjust to Sync.

I’ve checked the release date and it started happening to me on the 11th April and to my friend a few days before, so it would’ve been with the 5.3 release on the 8th April.

I can record a short video and post that as well.

A couple of videos of issue when using Sync. I tried to use a couple of different BPM ranges as an example.

125-136 BPM with Sync on.

136-134 BPM with Sync on.

Thanks for the videos @adrianamos. This is very helpful. Can you please check if you have Tempo Blend enabled in the Crossfader FX menu?

Tempo Blend is turned off. I never turn that option on because of EDM mixing.

It’s stopped changing BPM at the moment, which it does every now and then.

EDIT
Hang on, happening again with Tempo Blend turned off. I’ll try turning off Crossfader FX to see if that helps.

I’ll check the setting on my Mac as well.

Hmm… very strange. I’ll pass this onto engineering to see if they can replicate it.

In the meantime, please close djay and follow the procedure linked below to perform a Forced Restart of your iOS device:

  1. iPhone: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (IE)
  2. iPad: Force restart iPad - Apple Support (IE)

Hi again @adrianamos, did the Forced Restart suggestion above work?

Our engineering team has not been able to reproduce this either. We need to figure out under which circumstances this happens, e.g. does it only happen with specific songs or specific BPMs, or does it always happen for you? Thanks!

Hello! It’s been more than a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!

Hi,
It seems to have resolved itself.
It seemed to happen with BPM ranges greater than 5%. It was as though Tempo Blend was turned on, even though as I mentioned I always use Sync only
For auto mixes.

That’s good news. Thanks for the follow up @adrianamos

Oh hang on, it’s still happening on my MacBook. iPhone seems to be OK.

I’ll do some testing on my MacBook and let you know.

Thanks for the follow up @adrianamos. Please try to capture a video if you can.

There is a bug since the last update.

We have to set « tempo adjust » to any value then to « sync » again at startup

Hi @Fonzi, please try turning off Tempo Blend in the CFX menu.

That’s exactly what a friend is doing every time they startup the iOS app.
