Hey all! I’m on Mac OS and looking for a tool that can find and add/correct album art on my MP3s. Bonus if they can also fix other metadata, like year and genre. I did try Lexicon already, but the results have been hit or miss. Thanks!
You can do it it Apple Music though there are other programs available if you look for ID3 Tag editor.

Thank you for the reply. To be more specific, I’m looking if there’s a program that can take a whole crate or even database and automatically find the album art for all the tracks, and replace existing album art. Most of my tracks are from pools so they don’t have the correct album tags, so using the Music app wouldn’t work. Ideally would like something that does it all automatically so I don’t need to search and change each song one by one, lol
Maybe this software will be of use for you?
I’ll check it out, thank you!

No problem, when you click the download link, you will see a link to a page for the Mac version. They offer a 7 day trial to test before purchasing.
Otherwise there are other options available too.
Picard also works and is completely free. Not perfect but then none of them are.
Artworks are there in audiomac, discogs, spotify, everywhere, etc BUT, automated programs won’t get it right for you.
Maybe I am the weird one here but, honestly, on ever single track i acquire, I manually search google images for it’s official artwork (or something better to my eyes), download it in it’s original pixel glory and i add it onto the track id3 tag using kid3. You’d be suprised that sometime there’s actually a much better-looking artqwork for a track than the original! Where I don’t like any artwork, I put mine
I’ve tried several programs, and none of them are perfect, they have all been hit or miss. Main problem - they rely on external music services that are also flawed. Best you can do is whittle down the tracks methodically, which means some manual work on your part.
On principal, I would recommend looking at MP3Tag. Not because it magically solves this issue, but because it has manual tools with some automation that you can apply to the problem. The caveat is that it is a technical program and there is a learning curve.
Between MP3Tag and Apple Music, I somehow keep my DJ library organized and functioning
.
Lexicon does the job and so
Much more
mp3tag and Picard are great for a first sweep of a big collection as you can tweak and edit the search criteria very well. You can ask for multiple or single genres to be written, control the scope of genres to select from and also edit preferred format searches.
You may end up with lots of variations of house for example but you can then reset the main genre and use the results as sub genres which is handy.
It’s best to start with a few tracks and work in batches, say 20 at first to check it’s doing what you want
