Change of beatgrid timing/structure within a song

MacBook Pro M4/Sequoia/Djay 5.3/Rane Performer

I’ve been searching the forum but can’t find what I’m looking for… I’m not talking about Fluid beatgrid for tempo changes, which works flawlessly, but some songs i.e. “Never too much” from Luther Vandross, have a beat structure which changes the beat grid at some certain point. Is there any way to set that change of grid in a song without doing it manually?

I don’t think there’s any DJ software that is “time signature aware” and will auto detect changes like that - or indeed allow you to set them.

I’ve made such a suggestion for improvement before. I hope I understood you correctly and we are talking about the same thing.
4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 5/4…

You have to bear in mind that not even the major DAW software (which allows manual setting of time signatures) can auto detect the changes in a track itself and set the grid at each change.

Even if time signature changes were implemented in the gridding system, it would be up to the DJ to know each track intimately enough to set the correct time signature at the correct place.

Yes, i use Logic Pro and I know what you’re talking about, but it would be easier to have the option to set the grid manually for some certain tracks. Not really an issue as just disabling the sync and throwing the next song in the right time is pretty easy, but that would help to have hands free for other adjustments.

A wish for the (distant?) future perhaps.

In the world of DJ software, the only time signature is 4/4, tracks only ever have one key, and they only have one BPM (well Algoriddim dealt with the last one!).
