Changing Playlists - Jumping to top of Playlist

Center on selected song in Libary Please

Thanks for the suggestion @DJMonti. I’ve merged your new topic with this existing one as I believe these are closely related. I have also forwarded this to the dev team for consideration.

Anyone else have the issue with the playlist or more specifically folder from a hard drive jumping to the top of the list once a track has been loaded? I’m using windows 11 with a numark partymix 2

Hi @Harvey_Ware, I’ve merged your new topic with this existing one. This is currently expected behaviour in djay. Please cast your vote at the top left of this page to show your interest in changing this in djay. Thanks.

a plus one for not having to navigate from the top of a playlist when switching using a controller.

In my personal use case, as a blind DJ, knowing I can return to the same point I left from is super helpful.

Yes, every other major platform does this. Prevents endless scrolling when going between playlists and avoid “serato face”.

Is there anyway to stop the my library from scrolling all the way back to the top every time a new track is loaded onto a deck? It really bugs me having to scroll all the way back down each time I load a track since I sort by BPM and work my way up the list. Thanks.

It makes me sad, too. But I read here on the forum that there was a request to correct this defect.

Hi,

I’m using Djay Pro 5.2.10195.0 with Reloop Mixtour on Windows 10.with a Lenovo W520.

I have an annoying problem. When I’m playing, I sort the songs by bpm in my playlist. Now when I select a song, load and play it, the blue highlight in my playlist of the song disappears. If I now want to select the next song and turn the “Track Select Wheel” on the Reloop Mixtour, the selection always jumps to the first song in the playlist. If I don’t have a sorted selection selected this doesn’t happen. Need sorting by BPM in my sets. I’ve already tried to solve this with settings, but haven’t found anything that helps.
How can this be eliminated? Now I have to click on the next song with the mouse every time so that the blue selection is activated again and I can continue scrolling by BPM using the “Song Selection Wheel”. Hope that’s understandable… Please help… thank you!

I wait too  its important

  • Version of djay (e.g. 5.2.1095.0):
  • Hardware/controllers used (Pioneer DDJ Flx4:

Summary of the issue:
In DJPro on Windows, when you scroll or select a track from the playlist in the Library, the cursor loses its position (looks like it is caused by the playlist being refreshed)) and starts from the beginning of the list.

This is especially problematic when using the “BROWSER” from the controller to scroll the playlist in the library, as each time you load a track, it starts scrolling from the first item and you need to scroll down again.

Note that this only happens when you rearrange the playlist from the default (e.g., by BPM, … ) and doesn’t occur with the default order of the playlist. This is even more restrictive as there’s no renumber function in the list to change the default order of the playlist.

How to reproduce the issue:

no Controller:
1- Change the order of the playlist from default to BPM, or something else
2- Simply double-click a track to load on a Deck
3- you can see the Curoser loses its position, (seems the playlist being refreshed)

With Controller:
1- Change the order of the playlist from default to BPM, or something else
2- Scroll to an item with the BROWSER wheel and load the item to a Deck
3- Try to browse and select the next item, you can see the Curoser loses it’s position so you have to scroll all the way down again …

So this issue was first raised in February, and as far as I am aware it still has not been resolved.
The behaviour is the same for MacOS as well.

Any news from the devs about whether or not fixing this is on the roadmap?

Thanks

I’d like the library to “know where i was” when i change views, and go back.

Just bumping this topic back up to the top, in search of more votes!
I’m also going to link to it over in the active thread on paying more for better features.

Personally, this is my biggest bugbear right now.

Thanks for the follow up. Our engineering team is already working on this.
