Controller and design suggestions

Visionary DJs and developers such as Slak Jaw from Algoriddim’s Djay Pro, Mike Hoska—the developer behind the Numark NS7 series—and Jason Stout from InMusic have each played an influential role in shaping the evolution of the DJ industry. Through their groundbreaking work, they have redefined how DJs mix, perform, and interact with technology, introducing tools and concepts that continue to expand the boundaries of digital performance. By uniting artistry and engineering, these innovators have enriched opportunities for self-expression, education, and collaboration across the global DJ community.

Building on this legacy of innovation, forming a development partnership with AlphaTheta to design a DJ Rev 7/11 Mark II featuring modular options would be a bold and forward-thinking move. Concepts such as integrating PLX-CRSS12 platters or developing a future Numark NS7 IV equipped with updated Rane, Denon DJ, or Numark TTX2 platters — taking advantage of their shared corporate foundation—could establish a new performance standard for professional DJs. Collaboration among leaders like Slak Jaw, DJ Angelo, Jason Stout, Mike Hoska, and the AlphaTheta or Numark teams would result in controllers that embody superior design, creativity, and advanced performance technology. This would also ensure full support for Djay Pro, delivering controllers of exceptional quality, intuitive functionality, and world-class sound.

Hi @Oscar_Castro. !!
Hi, I really appreciate this kind of visionary thinking. It’s great to see you exploring how collaboration between hardware and software developers could push the DJ world forward.

What I wanted to add is that not all DJs are turntablists. That’s why I believe different types of controllers are needed for the various groups out there. On one hand, a solid, reliable controller with excellent usability and a straightforward layout — but with supporting all the next-level features like stems and neural effects. On the other hand, a controller for the real turntablists and creative performers who see their setup as a true musical instrument, use midi to the limit and want to push every possible boundary.

Designing for both worlds probably means creating distinct tools, each tailored to its own workflow and performance style.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions @Oscar_Castro. I’ll pass this onto our development team for future consideration.

Thank you @DJ_Big_Blender, I hope it happens to help keep DJs inspired about new hardware technology incorporated to work with djay Pro.

@Oscar_Castro, if possible, can you please be more specific about what you’d like to see in a controller collaboration?
