On my controller in the button region there is cue, auto loop, fader cuts and sampler, I have mapped out cue, autoloop and sampler but I cant map out the fader cut. It only has one option which is mixer-crossfader. I want to have the same options for fader cuts and map it out to be a skip section. How can I get it to be the same as the cue, auto loop and sampler rather then just the one mixer crossfader option? I had one idea by duplicating the 4 buttons and then asssigning them but once I touch the fader cuts its same, one option which is crossfader. Can someone help me? I will add pictures down below.
I want the fader cuts to be mapped like the first picture and not the second.
This is what I want
This is what I dont want
Thanks in advance

Hi @Gabberman1980, I am not 100% sure what you are trying to achieve. Can you please try to explain things differently or perhaps record a short video?
- By “button region” do you mean the Performance Pads?
- By "mapped out"do you mean that you modified the built-in MIDI mapping for these buttons?
- By “fader cuts” are you talking about the Performance Pad Mode on the hardware? Do you want to replicate what these buttons do in Serato? Or do you want to MIDI map these to different commands?
- Regarding the shared images, is it about the Commands or the Targets?
Thanks!
Hello
Sorry should’ve been more specific. I would like to midi map the top 4 performance pads to something else but can only get one option. I will add a video
Thanks
Hi @Gabberman1980, thanks for the video. That definitely clarifies things. So the top 4 Performance Pads in “Fader Cut Pad Mode” are sending the same MIDI message for all 4 buttons instead of a different MIDI message for each one. I’m guessing this could be some kind of hardware limitation, but I’ve passed it onto our engineering team for confirmation. I’ll report back when I have more news.
In the meantime, you could check with a 3rd party MIDI Monitor tool too see if the hardware is indeed sending separate MIDI messages for each button.
Do you have the name of one of these tools? That would be great. If you could let me know what the engineers say as well that would be great
Hi @Gabberman1980, here’s a good option for macOS: MIDI Scope on the App Store
Also, our engineering team had this to say:
- Pressing the Fader Cut button actually makes the controller send MIDI as if the crossfader were moving to do automatic crossfader moves. So it’s not surprising the MIDI editor jumps to the crossfader entry. From djay’s point of view the controller is not just sending a button press but actually moving the crossfader back and forth. This makes remapping those pads pointless because they will adjust the crossfader every time you press them.
- So, in short, this is unfortunately a limitation of the hardware.
