I’m using an iPhone 17 pro max
Two Rane 12’s
Reloop Rmx95
Novation Launchpad Mini.
The 12’s are connected to the 95’s usb ports.
The Launchpad and Rmx95 are connected to an Amazon Basics Thunderbolt 4 Dock. The iphone is connected to the computer port on the dock as well.

After a while (times vary) i start to get a crackling sound in the audio. There’s no way to stop it other than unplugging the iphone, and plug it up again.

I’ve tried turning off all apps in background, turned off iCloud syncing. There is no heat buildup on the iPhone. I’ve tweaked the battery settings. The dock gets warm but not hot. Is there an easy fix to this so i can do a 6 hour set with no worries using iPhone 17 Pro Max? Or is it too much data from all the equipment?

Any suggestions? TIA.

I’d suspect that the Twelves are the most likely culprit due to their sending a continuous high resolution stream of data while they rotate. Least likely would be the Launchpad, which would only send when used.

Maybe try with only one Twelve connected. See if it improves or disappears.

Hi @DJ_A_Diffrance, USB instability is one of the most common causes of audio dropouts, and since a replug is the only thing that clears it, the dock is where I’d look first. Buffer size and sample rate can’t be changed on iOS; djay handles audio configuration automatically. So the fixes are on the hardware side. Try these one at a time so we know which one did it:

1. Try plugging the iPhone straight into the RMX-95 and leave out the dock and the Launchpad.
2. Make sure Low Power Mode is off: **Settings \> Battery \> Low Power Mode**
3. Update iOS and djay, and check Reloop’s site for RMX-95 firmware.
4. If you’re streaming, do a session with local files only.

If the direct connection is stable, you can charge during a long set with a MagSafe wireless charger.

Thanks guys. I will try these, and update. MagSafe wireless charger on the way!
However, I don’t think this setup would work for me without the launchpad. It pretty much controls all hot cues, and other things vital to my workflow, thanks to Djay Pro’s midi mapping capabilities. Hope it is the dock.

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
