Crossfader volume - Reloop Elite

2023 iPad pro
Latest iOS
Djay 5.3
Reloop elite with Rane twelve

Brand new mixer and 12s. I have Djay settings set up as internal. The crossfader behaves oddly when I move it to deck 2.

When a song is loaded and playing on deck 1, everything is fine. When I get to the midpoint of the crossfader, everything behaves normally as well. When a song is loaded on deck 2 and I slide the crossfader 75% to the right from deck 1 to deck 2, the volume fades. When the crossfader is all the way to deck 2, the volume cuts out completely.

I tinkered with the crossfader settings in the software. Same results. To rule out mixer conflicts, I tinkered with curve settings on the mixer and results were the same.

Any ideas? Thanks much.

Hi @d.Jaebren, thanks for the details about your setup and the issue - this is very helpful! Please navigate to the djay Settings>Sound>MIXER>Crossfader Curve and let me know what curve setting you are using. Sounds like you might be using Dipped. Also check the Crossfader curve adjustment on the front of the Elite Mixer.

You should 100% be using the Reloop Elite in External Mixer mode. IMO.

Thanks for responding.

Settings>Sound>MIXER>Crossfader Curve…I was on default and tried all of the settings. Liner, constant power, dipped and cut. Same results.

I tried different knobs settings on the elite with different curves to see if there was any change in combination with the Djay curve settings. Same results.

Okay thanks @d.Jaebren. Can you please try to capture a short video of the issue and upload it here? Please note the maximum file size is 200MB, so if your video is larger than that, you’ll need to upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the file here. Thanks!

Also, please check to see if Crossfader FX are enabled.

Update.

The issues experienced were on an iPad. When connected to a MacBook with internal set (similar to listed issues but with an iPad instead of Mac), the issue is the same.

However, when connecting with external setting to a Mac, it works fine

Either way, it’s fair to assume that when Djay pro setting is internal with an external mixer, it will not work.

Consider the issue resolved. Thanks.
