It’s absolutely “Pro” just not for all pros. Not all professional race car drivers drive the same car or drive on the same track. It’s backed by dj qbert and dj Angelo. How much more pro validation can you get? That being said maybe if algoriddim put out exclusive hardaware similar to the mixon 8 or even a special edition hercules t10 or rane system one, they might be mentioned in the pro conversations a bit more similar to how a lot of new rs1 owners are adding engineos to their workflow ---

In the last period, in addition to Reloop, they have started the collaboration with AlphaTheta but it is still mentioned very little because it is difficult for a Pioneer/AT user to have the ability or desire to switch to another system, a different thing for all the other users, in my opinion it would give a nice shock by supporting the Denon console monitors because many users are unhappy with the stems and because they had sold the P4+ saying that it would have the stems on board and instead they were released for everyone not live but to be pre-analyzed, then for months there has been talk of EngineOS updates but in reality nothing is coming out, only beta tests… ---

Surely if ‘beta tests’ are being released that proves they are working on an update? Otherwise what is the point of a beta? ---

Ah this discussion, brings back memories 🙂 I’ve been through all the technological DJ transitions: started out with vinyl (there was nothing else, and I know now it’s romantised but essentially all us DJ’s back then were complaining about crappy needles, resonating sound, skipping tracks, heavy lifting etc.). Then the Denon and Numark CD 19” rack units started happening, with little pitch sliders and separate control units, and we started adding CDs to the mix. Then the first square Pioneer CD unit with the small black jogwheel, wow, that was something! We started bringing wallets with burned CD-R-’s. Pioneer started dominating the clubs with their CDJ’s. Also, Final Scratch happened, and DVS became a thing, and Traktor and Serato where ruling the DJ software. I’ve been using all of it, and always people start dissing you that this is “not real DJ’ing” or “not professional”. Typically, these complainers are other DJ’s, because if you’re a real professional DJ, you know how to make a crowd move, and people don’t care, or have time, to look at your screens or devices. Only trainspotters, standing in corners and not dancing care about the medium LOL. I am now transitioning from Traktor to Djay Pro, because I feel Djay Pro has the brightest future, and has the best technical implementation and foundation of all the DJ software right now. UX wise it can improve, especially in the library department, but I see a very high velocity of development and improvements, which I really love and makes me remember the old days of Traktor. So, to answer the question: you decide what is professional and what is not. And if you’re a good DJ, you simply can use ANY tool to make the crowd dance, because in the end it’s all about the cook and not the kitchen. ---

Using Djay since the first release of the iOS app, which is also very close to the beginning of my own path in this industry. Djay has definitely has a chair at the Pro’s desk. It does a lot of things so much better and in a more fluid way than for example Rekordbox (I know, I didn’t set the bar too high, but at this point I must use that too). My only complaints are really just about the less powerful iPad versions, but I know that there are still a lot of restriction coming from the iPadOS itself, but that doesn’t answer the question why we’re not able to export to USB in OneLibrary format. And I can’t wait to be able to plug my iPad mini directly to a modern CDJ. That would make my life so much easier when i’m traveling. ---

I’ve been using Djay since 2010-2011, I’ve bought it about 3-4 times so far, on Mac and iPhone, I’ve always liked the layout, UI, Remote which unfortunately is no longer available today and other features. So I’ve always believed in this dj software even though forced by circumstances (using Pioneer controllers which at the time were not native with Djay) I had to use other dj software. Today Djay is very powerful with many features, innovative so it has every chance of becoming a favorite among djs in a few years. I admit that I don’t use Djay Pro now because over time I’ve become addicted to a few simple features that I can’t find on Djay at the moment. Maybe in time, Djay will introduce them and then at the end of djing after 30 years with over 15 years on controllers , I’ll have the opportunity to use Djay at a few events. Regards ---

Midi mapping for sorting columns like ARTIST & BPM & KEY , etc. An option to set X seconds till a track is considered played. it’s about library control, every time you select Artist or BPM, etc playlist start from begining always, even iTunes is better. On iTunes and other Dj software when switch from Artist to BPM, playlist remain to selected track, on Djay is not. When djing with Djay my hands are more on the laptop than on the controller ---
