DRM Song Protection and djay

I used djay for a gig last weekend. Upon loading a DRM protected song bought from iTunes Store to a turntable, djay’s main output switched from Vestax Spin (connected to main PA system) to Built-in Output. Luckily it was during early playing of quiet background music and I don’t think anyone noticed - it would have been a much worse problem later on. Is this a known issue with djay and DRM protection? I’m running djay 4.0.5 with Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a MacBook 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo with 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

Hi Jim,

Yes, this is a technical restriction. DRM files will play through whatever is selected in System Preferences as the default audio output.
