Thanks for sharing @MIDI_master

why is this taking so long for a fix or is out on purpose

Hi @Tyson, welcome to the Community! Good question, but unfortunately I don’t have a clear answer for you. I suspect the repairs at Spotify are more difficult than they expected.

Every software developer knows how brittle and tricky it is when you’re integrating with third-party API’s and interfaces. They can break without notice and out of your control, and then you’re scrambling to figure out what has changed, why, and how to solve things.

Now I know not everybody is a software developer, or cares about these things, but it’s simply smart and common sense to understand that integrations with external parties can go down or break, and have a backup plan.

@Shane_Bryson To be fair @Slak_Jaw has been replying to every single comment and very quickly. It’s clearly more on Spotify than the djay software. No need to be rude and be unappreciative for the support and answers that have been given.

It’s insane that it’s been more than a week and we don’t even have an ETA for a fix. Spotify and DJ softwares that use it have really lost credibility in the DJ scene with this outage and it will be hard to rebuild that credibility back. This has definitely left a terrible impression to users. It’s industry standard practice to at least give the users an ETA of a fix. They’re doing a great job sending people over to Apple Music. Just… really disappointing.

Thank you @decisive

I went to tidal. Much more DJ friendly.

The only credibility in question is of those who stake their reputation on a budget music service designed for mums, kids and everyday Joes. The rest of the DJ “scene” remain unaffected I assure you.

Cool, good for you mate. Continue to have productive dialogue, as usual.

It looks like Spotify is having issues again on the app itself. I am now getting the same “no search results found” on Spotify. So it looks like there are a lot of issues with Spotify at the moment. Maybe they are relying too much on AI to write their code. https://downdetector.com/status/spotify/

Thanks for sharing this @decisive

I’ve been a paying Spotify user since day 1. And I can confirm that the performance of Spotify has been really getting worse for the last few months. It seems they have changed some stuff in the backend services/API’s that make heavier usage time-out or respond way to slow. If it’s due to vibe-coding I dunno but it seems to that either compute resources and/or optimisations are severely lacking and being reduced.

Just wanted to share that Spotify is now loading songs in Djay pro for me.

Hello everyone, we just received news from Spotify that they’ve released another update to fix this issue.

Can you please test to confirm if your Spotify songs are now loading in djay?

If they are not, please do the following:

  1. Log out of Spotify from within djay and all Spotify Apps and browsers
  2. Reboot your device
  3. Launch djay
  4. Log back into Spotify and confirm if you are still experiencing this issue or not?

If you are still having issues, after performing the 4 steps above, please confirm where exactly you are located, and if the issue remains the same as before or is something different now. This will help us troubleshoot this further with Spotify if necessary. Thanks!
