Hi everyone,
I’m struggling with the volume of the Noise effect on my FLX10.
By default, the wet/dry value for Noise on the FLX10 is set to 50%. For my taste, that’s a bit too loud. I can adjust it directly in djay Pro, but whenever I activate Noise again, it resets back to 50%.
Is there a way for djay to remember the set value?
As a second attempt, I tried MIDI mapping the wet/dry to a knob, but the same thing happens — djay doesn’t retain the set volume and always jumps back to 50% when Noise is turned on again.
Thanks a lot!
Ben
Hi @Herbstblatt90, sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, we set the noise to 50% by default. Sorry, but currently there is no way to remember changes to that. We overwrite it every activation to ensure it is always audible at a predictable level so you can’t run into an issue where you have moved the knob in the software at some time and then wonder why you either can’t hear the noise or its extremely loud when you push the button later. I hope that helps!
Hey @Slak_Jaw,
thanks a lot for your reply!
I found a workaround for myself by mapping one of the mic knobs to “effect 3 wet/dry”. This way I can quickly adjust the level whenever I use the Noise effect.
cheers
Ben

You’re welcome @Herbstblatt90. Thanks for sharing your workaround!
With it been way to loud to begin with is there no way the engineering team can take a look to at least lower the volume?
Well “loudness” is a highly subjective and individual thing. I suspect this is why 50% was chosen. If engineering was to reduce this, I’m sure some existing users would find the new volume default not loud enough.

Are the color fx not hardware fx?
No I don’t believe they are. All software effects.

Wait, the flx10 can ONLYbe used on Internal Mixer Mode!?
I just bought one today and immediately turned around and drove an hour back to guitar center.
Will the Flx10 ever be able to be used in External Mixer Mode?
This is part of the hardware design itself and is controlled by the manufacturer so, probably not.

Bummer. I should have checked ahead of time. Soon as I realized, I drove back to the store and returned it.
