FX Cannot Be Applied to Decks When CH Select Is Set to Master

Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue with Sound FX routing in djay Pro AI.

When I set CH Select to Master, I can no longer apply FX to individual decks from my controller. The effects only affect the master output, and I cannot target any specific deck during performance.

In typical Pioneer workflows, DJs can quickly switch FX targets without losing deck control, so this behavior interrupts live mixing workflow.

Is this intended behavior, or is there a way to apply Sound FX to decks while CH Select is set to Master?

Thanks! :+1:

I don’t understand this, isn’t that exactly what master is for? If you select master on a DJM mixer it applies the effect to the master out and not the channel.

That’s correct, but when I select Master on my FLX6-GT device and try to apply effects, I don’t get any results.

I would like to ask again: Are you not getting any results on the master or on the channel where you want the effect?

What you describe above is completely normal behavior. When the switch is set to “Master,” you cannot assign an effect to individual channels. If you want to do that, you have to select the desired channel; that’s what this switch is for.

But maybe I haven’t understood the problem as a whole…

There is no problem with selections 1, 2, 3, and 4 on CH Select, but when I select MST, I can send my effect to the main output on rekordbox. However, this is not possible in DJay PRO AI; it forces me to select a channel.

I get you now, Djay has no option to effect master at all, only channels.

Hi @n421m, @STU-C is correct. djay only supports per Deck FX. So Deck 1, 2, 3, or 4. No master channel FX.
