Dear Algoriddim Team,
First of all, thank you for the continuous development of djay. It has become an incredibly powerful tool, especially on iPad.
I regularly perform at international dance congresses as DJ FirenZ, and I rely on djay in live performance environments. I would like to propose a workflow improvement specifically aimed at professional use in real-world booth situations.
In the current two-deck EQ layout, there is unused screen space:
• Below the waveform area
• On both sides of the crossfader
From a live performance perspective, this space could be used for:
-
Small headphone cue selection buttons (Deck 1 / Deck 2), accessible without leaving the main EQ layout.
-
Two compact hot cue buttons per deck, visible directly in the main performance screen, so basic cues can be triggered without switching to Performance Pad mode.
This would effectively create a “Compact Booth Mode”:
• EQ visible
• Waveforms visible
• Minimal hot cue access
• Direct headphone cue control
• No layout switching required
For professional DJs performing live events, this would significantly improve speed, confidence, and flow during transitions.
The space is already available in the interface, and implementing these compact controls would enhance real-world usability without overcrowding the layout.
I would be happy to provide further feedback or assist with testing if needed, as I regularly perform in live event environments and could offer practical insights.
Thank you for considering this request.
Best regards,
DJ FirenZIf
