Hot Cue Lag (Quantize is OFF)

Hi @Alexander88207, welcome to the Community! Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue as well. Thanks for the details about your setup - this is very helpful! I will share this with our engineering team.

In the meantime, have you tried turning Quantize Off and Key Lock Off?

I get delay with the DDJ-SP1, it disappears however when i just use my ipad as a control surface and trigger the on screen cue points.

Thanks for sharing @STU-C

My setup is as follows:

Controller: Pioneer Rev7 (connected via cable)

djay version: 5.6.

Operating System: Macbook M2

Songs: Local in MP3: Usually 256 KB/s with 48000 Hz

Quantize, Sync and Keylock ON

Thanks for the follow up and additional information @Constantin_Cristinel . I’ve merged your new topic with this existing one to keep the conversation organized.

  1. Please test with your Quantize turned Off or set below 1.

  2. If #1 above doesn’t help, please try testing with Keylock Off on both decks.

Thanks!

Hello, i’m using Djay since only a few month, i’ve just maid some tests with my mixtour Pro because i also have a little lag when pressing performance pads.

For me, the lags come from the mixtour Pro, i’ve done the same test with my reloop Elite and there’s no lag.

My config : Macbook pro M1 PRO / 16 go Ram / 1T SSD and Sequoia mac OS.

Could you please fix this on mixtour pro ?

Have a nice day.

Hi @djtricefrance, I’ve moved your post from the Android topic to the macOS one. Thanks for this information - very interesting.

  1. Can you please confirm that you are using the exactly same djay settings when using the Mixtour Pro and the Elite (ex. Keylock, Quantize, Sync, etc.)?
  2. Are you using the same USB cable and USB port when connecting either hardware to your Mac?
  3. Is the Mixtour Pro also connected to power or are you powering it off your Mac USB port?
  4. Can you please share a video comparing hot cue performance on the Mixtour Pro and the Elite? Thanks!

Hi @Slak_Jaw I’ve just remade a test now with the mixtour pro and it’s now ok. I have test with the mixtour directly connceted to my macbook pro and macbook air, and after, a 2nd test connected through a usb3 powered hub, and a enother one again through the hub with without power delivery.

And it’s also ok when i plug the power delivery to the mixtour and the mixtour to my mac(s).

Sorry for that, but it wasn’t the case when i did my first test with the mixtour. Here is a short video showing what i wasn’t able to do with the performance pad of the mixtour.

Hello everyone, for those of you still experiencing hot cue lag with a DJ controller connected,

  1. Can you please confirm if your controller is connected to its own power supply or running off of USB bus power from your laptop/tablet?
  2. If your device doesn’t have its own power supply, can you please try connecting it to a powered USB hub then to your laptop/tablet to see if that helps? Thanks!
