I confirmed from past forum posts that when there are multiple identical tracks, djay matches them using:
Title + Artist + Track Duration
However, I have multiple files of the exact same track that have slightly different silence periods at the beginning. This causes the grid and cue positions to shift. I want to use a specific version with a clearer waveform, but djay automatically loads the unexpected version instead of my preferred one.
I do not want to change the Title, Artist, or Filename because I manage my library via the Apple Music App, and changing them would ruin my playlist organization.
Therefore, could you please include the “Comment” tag in the matching algorithm?(Title + Artist + Track Duration + Comment)
With this method, by adding a unique note to the Comment field, djay could correctly differentiate between duplicate files and preserve our precise grids/cues without messing up our Apple Music App library.
