When I’m not connected to idj pro I have all my songs on my iPad. But when I connect to idj pro I lose all my music. Then have to download my music from iCloud to my iPad which eats up all my music. What am I doing wrong?

Can you please explain the problem a bit further?
Generally speaking, connecting your iDJ Pro to your iPad has absolutely no effect on your music library.
Please also note that djay 2 can only access the songs on your local iTunes library. So, you need to first download songs from iCloud if you wish to use them with djay.
