Subject: Is there a way to stop the platter automatically at the end of the track, or to prevent Sync from trying to follow a beatgrid from a “dead” or finished deck?
Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding the Rev7 and how it behaves when a track finishes.
Here’s the situation:
When a track reaches the end on the Rev7, the platter keeps spinning, even though the audio has stopped. Is there any way to change this behavior so that the platter stops spinning once the track ends?
The issue becomes more noticeable in a live setting — for example, when I let Deck A play out completely and make an announcement on the mic (like in a club), then start Deck B afterward but because the platter on Deck A is still spinning, Sync tries to align Deck B with Deck A’s beatgrid, which results in a noticeable jump or shift when Deck B starts playing. This can really throw off the timing.
Is there a way to stop the platter automatically at the end of the track, or to prevent Sync from trying to follow a beatgrid from a “dead” or finished deck?
Note:
I’m aware that turning off Sync or Beatgrid would “fix” this, but I specifically want to continue using Sync and BPM features — they’re essential to my workflow. So this suggestion is aimed at making these features more robust and reliable in real-world DJ situations.
Would really appreciate any insights or workarounds.
Thanks in advance!
Best,
Essa
