There are so many issues with Android that I decided to convert my music from Apple’s m4a format to VBR at 320. And now DJay Pro on Android crashes out of the blue, slows down, or simply fails to load the graphical interface when I open it for the first time.
My very sincere and honest opinion is that the developers are doing this on purpose to force you to buy an Apple device, whether it’s an iPad or an iPhone. I’ve paid for the annual subscription on Android and I have the right to use the same features that are available on iOS, but no, that’s not how it works. In my case, I own an iPad, so I’ll solve the problem by stopping using Android, but I imagine other users won’t do that.
The way I see it, the developers make the Android version to lure people in and say: “Do you want this to work properly? … Well, go buy an Apple device.”
I’ll stop using djay on Android because they’ll never bring it up to the same level as iOS, so my question is: why not just focus on making the Android version with certain requirements—like minimum RAM, minimum processor model, etc.—instead of releasing flawed products just to encourage people to switch to Apple?
This isn’t hate toward djay, but as a user, it’s really annoying to pay for something and not be able to use it unless it’s a certain brand.
That is my opinion, unless doing so is prohibited. And that’s why I feel that way. As a user, I have the right to be frustrated when the things you pay for don’t work the way they should.
You can be frustrated, but accusing them of doing something like that is a whole different ball game, and one I’d want to be 100% sure was accurate before making it, if it was me.
You can’t just casually throw potentially false accusations around with free will.
I understand the difference between an opinion and an accusation. So I’ll ask you to read carefully which terms I used. Since you want to use legal terms… Fortunately, we don’t live in a dictatorial world where opinions are censored. It’s simply an opinion. I don’t know what your relationship with the company is or if you’re just a die-hard fan (fanboy), but it’s an opinion based on my frustration—or do you expect all opinions to be rosy? In everything, everywhere, you’re going to find opinions of every kind, and that’s the whole point of these public forums.
It seems as if you’re trying to intimidate anyone who expresses a negative opinion, and I don’t think that’s the case or the spirit of this thread.
I read your text carefully, it reads as an accusation, you preface it with ‘sincere and honest’ then follow by claiming the company are deliberately changing things to point you from one brands products to a rival brands products, all sorts of legal issues could be caused by such accusations.
As for the petty fanboy comments, im not addressing that nonsense.
Hi @Lacoda, sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues on Android. I can assure you that our devs have not done this on purpose to force users to migrate to iOS. The Android platform simply has a much broader range of devices and OS’s than iOS does. Some of these device/OS combinations work better with audio apps than others. As we’ve discussed in previous topics, the extensive variety of Android hardware on the market presents unique challenges and complexities for development. Each device — whether a handset, tablet, or laptop — operates differently, which can make development more time-consuming. Our dev team is committed to achieving feature parity for djay across all platforms. We understand the high demand for these features within our Android user base and want to assure you that there is no intentional limitation on djay for Android to favor the growth of djay on Apple products.
Regarding the crashes you are experiencing, I have gone ahead and submitted an official support request on your behalf so that our team can have a closer look at your crash reports. This will help us to troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing in more detail. Someone from our team will contact you soon via email to help you further if you’d like. Otherwise, you can simply ignore their email. I hope that helps!
