I had used DJay pro for over a year now, coming Serato. Djay isnt perfect, but I put up with the little bugs. I have also put up with Mixon 8. I think im on my 3rd now. only over a year. the buttons just aren’t responsive enough. I now have to hit the play and other buttons for example. last night I was pressing the play button and it didn’t register. I have the mixture pro as well, much better quality. I really hope Reloop bring out a newer version that actually works out of the box and is better quality. I am serious considering moving over to Pioneer FLX10 or similar. Rant over!! I realise this maybe the wrong place to post this. but anyways, there you got.
Thanks for the feedback @Nubium. Have you shared this directly with Reloop as well?
am I right in thinking you have Mixon 8 and flx10? if so, what are your thoughts? I haven’t told Reloop, but will
I do not have a FLX10. I have a Reloop Mixon 8 Pro, Mixtour Pro, Ready, Denon Prime 4, Vestax VCI-400, Midi Fighter Spectra, Midi Fighter Twister and Midi Fighter 64.
You should definitely share your experience with Reloop. While we do have a close working relationship with Reloop, it is very much a separate company from Algoriddim.
I have reloop mixon 8 for 2 years now and No problems Here.
I’m trying the ddj grv6 now but it is No match for the reloop I think
I’ve also had my Mixon 8 since launch and have had no issues.
Hey @Nubium, I totally feel your frustration.
I’ve been using the Reloop Mixon 8 Pro for a while now too, and I’ve experienced similar issues with the build quality. In the beginning, some of the Cue Pads were either not responsive enough or too sensitive — sometimes just lightly touching them would already trigger a cue. I’ve heard similar feedback from other users as well. I also had the same problem with the Play button — several times I pressed it and nothing happened. Pretty embarrassing during a live performance.
Over time, you kind of learn to work around it — you figure out exactly where to press on the Play button, and the Cue Pads seem to perform a bit better after a lot of use. But honestly, that shouldn’t be necessary; it should work reliably from day one.
I’ve also noticed that after about a year of use, the small black toggle switches on the back and per channel (like the digital input selects) have become more sensitive and switch positions a bit too easily — again, not ideal during a set.
I reported these issues to Reloop as well, but they told me they’ve received “very few other complaints” about it. Still, I really hope they eventually release a MK2 version with improved build quality — ideally with softer rubber Play and Cue buttons like they seem to have on the MixTour. That would be a big upgrade.
So yeah, you’re definitely not the only one — thanks for sharing your experience!
If I didn’t always Loop tracks before bringing them in, it would actually be really difficult to use, but that’s just a habit I’ve gotten myself into. I’ve just remembered I’ve gotten old Denon MC7000. The build quality is fantastic and it works fall asleep with Dj Pro. I might dig that out again. I also really like the auto looping controls to be on a knob and not on three buttons.
