Load-to-Deck popup persists & blocks UI touch input

A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:

  • When tapping on a track in the Queue the load popup appears, if you click the load button on the controller, the popup remains on the screen “floating” and the iPad becomes unresponsive (until you click on the 1 or 2). Sometimes the 1/2 float to the bottom right and you can’t tick them anymore and you need “creative” ways to get the iPad responsive again.

B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Use DJay iOS
    Have songs in the queue. View on hardware mode and view either the sampler/looper or controls.
    Turn browse knop on controller.
    The Library view pops up.
    Tap on a track in queue, don’t hit 1 or 2 but press the load button on the controller.
    The Library view will close (have the lock off)
    iPad screen is unresponsive.

C) EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • When hitting any load button (controller or screen) the popup should close.

D) ACTUAL RESULTS:

  • The track load popup remains floating, and leaves iPad unresponsive.

Hi @Ramon_Richie, sorry for the delayed reply. Thanks for the setup details and video - this is very helpful. I was not able to replicate this on my iPad Pro, djay 5.6.8 and iPadOS 26.6.1 with the Mixtour Pro. I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay. You can find the files above in the following location:

  1. iOS: using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
  2. Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.

I grabbed a new iPad (10th gen) from work which had iPadOS 18.7.8, installed DJay, connected the Mixtour (no edits to mappings) and was able to reproduce.

Important is it only happens when you are not in the library view. You need to be in the control or looper view first!

I just updated the iPad to iPadOS 26.6.1 and same thing. So to recap

1 Have the looper view beneath the tracks.

2 Turn browse encoder on the controller → Library View pops up (with the lock unlocked)

3 Scroll to a track.

4 Tap on the quue (have at least 1 track in there)

5 Tap on a track in the queue, the load to deck popup appears.

6 But instead of clicking on it.

7 Hit a load button on the controller. (It wil load the track selected in step 3)

8 The Library view will close.

9 The load to deck popup will “drop” to the bottom of the screen and stay there floating.

At that point the iPad screen is “locked” until you hit the load left or right.

This is perfect! Thanks for the full reproduction steps and screenshots @Ramon_Richie. I was able to reproduce the issue using these exact steps. I will report this to our engineering team for further review and report back when I have more news. Thanks again!
