Mac -- subdirectories not sorted when 'adding a folder'

I have my music organized into artist subfolders (about 400 of them). When I add my parent music directory – the artist subfolders are listed in a random sort order, they’re not alphabetized.

This makes playing from file almost impossible – as I have to scroll through 400 unsorted folders each time :frowning:

Am I missing something?

in which order are your subfolders in the Finder, can you send us an exemplary screenshot of the folder?
