Music stops while external hard drive is loading a song

I have a problem with my Djay app, when I’m mixing, I load a song from my external hard drive (USB 3.0), and when I load another song to the other turntable, the sound stops for a 3 seconds!!, and that ruins all my live mix, what can I do?. This doesn’t happen with other DJ software.

Which USB hard drive do you have? Also, which Mac do you have? Does this also happen with songs on your internal hd?

Thanks, our developers are already looking into this issue. So far, this issue seemed to only occur on FireWire HDs.

My hard drive it’s a Toshiba canvio connect v73600-H 2TB, my Mac it’s a Retina 13" Late 2013, 2.4 Ghz i5, 8 GB RAM, OS X 10.9.4.

In my internal HD doesn’t happen this, only on the external one. But when I use other DJ software like Virtual DJ, the sound doesn’t stop.
