Neural Mix EQ for mids doesn’t fully cut out

  • Device model ( 2020 iPad Air 9th Gen):
  • Version of operating system (iOS 18.5):
  • Version of djay (5.3.2):
  • Hardware/controllers used *(Numark mixtrack platinum FX and Hercules Control mix)

So when using the neural mix EQ knobs, I’m able to completely cut out the vocals and the bass, but with the mids, it doesn’t fully cut out using the knobs, so it can still be heard in the song. When using the pads, or the screen, this issue doesn’t occur. This also wasn’t previously a problem when using the EQ knobs.

I have tried with both my Numark mixtrack platinum fx and my Hercules control mix, but the same issue. I attach a video also showing the problem.

Hi @Abiodun237, thanks for the video. This is very helpful.

Are you using the (built-in) MIDI mappings or custom edits?

Can you please open the MIDI Learn tool in djay, select your connected MIDI controller, rotate the Mid EQ/Intrument NM knob and share a screenshot of the MIDI command? Thanks.

Thanks for your response @Slak_Jaw

I’m using custom mappings. I’ve attached the screenshots

@Abiodun237 this is the problem. The NM EQ MIDI commands you have mapped are for 4 channel Neural Mix EQs (4 Knobs), not 3 channel EQs.

Please remap the Neural Mix EQs for both Deck 1 and Deck 2 as follows:

  1. High EQ Knob: Neural Mix EQ (3ch: Vocals)
  2. Mid EQ Knob: Neural Mix EQ (3ch: Harmonic)
  3. Low EQ Knob: Neural Mix EQ (3ch: Drums)
