New MacBook Pro M5

Good evening, I hope I haven’t started a new thread unnecessarily; if I have, I’ll delete the post and move it. I’m reaching out to ask the following question: given that I’m not a professional DJ – I just do it for fun and to entertain my friends – I’ve decided to make the big leap from a Windows laptop to the new MacBook Pro with M5 because I’d like to make an investment that will, ideally, last me as long as possible. The only problem is that the shop I’m planning to buy from only has the MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM in stock, whereas for the 24 GB version I’d have to order it directly from Apple under less favourable terms. In your opinion, can I go for the 16 GB one and feel relatively confident?

Hi @Santo_Dell_Atti, welcome to the Community! 16GB will be totally fine for DJing IMO - especially with the MBP M5.

Im still using an M1 with 16gb of RAM and it does everything with ease

I have the m5 with 16 gig of ram and it doesn’t break a sweat with djay pro

You dont actually need much, im using a macbook air m3 16gb , 5 to 6 nights a week, using stems with no issue
