A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:
- When using the acapel/instru buttons to mute vocals or instrumental the mute fx gets disabled produced a hard cut instead of an echo out. This doesn’t happen with the “stems” pad mode, only the two buttons
B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
-
Load and play neural mix compatible track.
-
Press either acapel or instru button and either acapel or instru will play but the other will just hard cut off with not mute fx but also the mute fx will be toggled off.
-
After re enabling the mute fx and trying out the acapel/instru buttons again, they disable the mute fx again.
C) EXPECTED RESULTS:
- On other controllers like the Hercules t7, the acapel/instru buttons perform similarly but mute fx remain enabled and utilized. On this controller it’s not only a hard cut but also disables mute fx for the standard “stems” pad mode on this controller
D) ACTUAL RESULTS:
- See detailed steps to produce

Hi @eyeseeyou01, thanks for the detailed info and video - this is super helpful. I see that you are using beta versions of iOS.
- Do you have an iOS device running on a non-beta version that you could test as well?
- Are they using the default Numark MixTrack Go mapping, or an edited/auto-generated copy
- Does it occur on both decks, and with both the acapella and instrumental buttons?
- Does changing the Mute FX type change anything?
- Can you please try testing by pressing SHIFT+INSTRU?
Thanks!

I’ll test this out when I get home with my extra iPhone. Isn’t there only one type of mute fx?

Thanks @eyeseeyou01, there are 3 Mute FX options:
- Echo Out - 1 Beat
- Echo Out - 3/4 Beat
- Echo Out - 1/2 Beat
Ok I’ve tested it on a non beta iPhone and tried everything you’ve mentioned.
Just pressing the acapel or instru button mutes either with a hard cut. Pressing shift + instru or acapel mutes and keeps the mute fx enabled.
I’m guessing since you’ve mentioned the shift + acapel/instru that I’ve missed some instruction on that’s the way to do it if you want the mute fx and the hard cut is by design?
Is the hard mute/cut by design?
Is this documented somewhere this is how we’re supposed to mute while also keeping mute fx enabled?
Hi @eyeseeyou01, thanks for confirming. This is not documented anywhere that I’m aware of, but I did analyze the MIDI Mapping XML file and noticed the SHIFT+ functionality.
Is that considered a “solution” if we’ve confirmed that approach exists but is “hidden”?
I like the way that the Hercules t7 uses those buttons where it keeps the mute fx on. It would make more sense for it to stay on since we manually and intentionally turn on mute fx.
ld really prefer to not have to manually remap those buttons to the nueral mix toggles for instrumental/vocals. I tested that out and it works as expected.
I suspect this is intentional behaviour, but I need to wait to hear back from our hardware team first to know for sure. I’ll let you know when I have more news. In the meantime, at least we know how to make it work as desired.

Thank you for looking into this. Usually if there’s a secondary “shift” function there’s some type of visual that implies that behavior. I’m glad you looked at the xml file because I would’ve never thought to press the shift button
You’re welcome @eyeseeyou01. Happy to help!

Alright well I don’t “love” how that functionality was implemented and I also don’t know how people would’ve known that’s the way to do it without you discovering that in the xml file but I suppose I can live with that.
hopefully it’s a quick and easy fix although it’s a new product and probably not enough people are using it to mention it.
Thanks for the additional feedback @eyeseeyou01
Hi again @eyeseeyou01, I checked with our hardware team and they confirmed this is the expected behaviour and was specifically requested by Numark.
- Pressing the ACAPEL/INSTRU buttons disables Mute FX.
- SHIFT+ ACAPEL/INSTRU keeps Mute FX enabled.
That’s slightly unfortunate, considering the Hercules t7 implementation of these buttons doesn’t disable mute fx.
Thank you for looking into this.
You’re welcome @eyeseeyou01.
