Option to Reset the Played track color back to Un-played

NOTE: Please use the search function above before posting to avoid creating duplicate topics.

looking to reset blue color played tracks back to unplayed. cant find how. i just upgraded to the latest version 5.2.3, is there a quick button or is the only way to close software and re=open.

Hi @dave3g, I don’t have access to a Mac at the moment, but I’m pretty sure the only way to reset the played track color is to close and reopen djay.

would be good to have a button for that.
AND for not reseting played tracks at restart.
e.g. you have to restart djay in the middle of the night.
in some situation it will be hard to remember what you played earlier that night.

Hi again @dave3g and @HertiMK, I’ve changed this topic from a Question to a Suggestion. I have forwarded this to the dev team for consideration. In the meantime, please use the blue Vote button at the top left of this page so we can gauge user demand for this feature. Thanks!

I’m transitioning from serato dj to see if Djay for me is better, Serato dj has a button for this, Djay is lacking in this feature

Hi @dave3g and @HertiMK, a workaround for some cases is to just create a new history session. This doesn’t require restarting djay and will reset the played state for all tracks.

Yes - but we would need an option to NOT refresh the played tracks after restart. Easy button

Hi,

how can i mark specific tracks as unplayed (even if i played them)?

Greetz Chris

Hi @Chq, please use search before creating new topics. I have merged your new topic with this existing one. Please see above for a potential workaround. Plus you can vote at the top left to show your support for adding this feature. Thanks!

  • Device model (e.g. 2020 iPad Air 4th Gen):
  • Version of operating system (e.g. macOS 14.4.1):
  • Version of djay (e.g. 5.1.2):
  • Hardware/controllers used (e.g. Reloop Mixon 8 Pro):

Your question:
Sorry if this has been answered already. There are a number of posts about this topic but none of the solutions have worked.
Per the previous questions, I have tried restarting the software. I have selected library>history>new session (nothing happens, history remains populated). I have even tried adding all tracks to a new playlist, yet my played tracks remain blue. How do I reset my played tracks?

Hi @Chef, please do not create new topics when an existing one is still open. This will really help to keep this Community organized. Thanks.

Have you tried creating a new history session as described above?

Yes I’ve tried clicking the plus sign and selecting new session. Nothing happens. History list remains populated and playlists remain marked blue

Thanks for confirming @Chef. Your description sounds very unusual. Ca you please try to capture a short video of the issue in the different scenarios, upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the video here? Thanks!

Update: the new session solution only works for playlists under “my collection” but not for any of the other library sources

Any recommendation for how to reset Apple Music or beatsource?

Hi @Chef,

  1. Try logging out of these streaming services from within the djay Settings>Library.
  2. Then close djay and follow the procedure linked below to perform a Forced Restart of your iOS device:
    a. iPhone: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
    b. iPad: Force restart iPad - Apple Support
  3. After restarting, launch djay and log back into your streaming services.
