Just updated to 5.3, now pressing the „Sync“ Button on my Mixtour Pro instantly starts the track instead of (just) adapting to the current running track. Is this a bug or a feature? Not quite shure, if I like it or not. Usually I like to have the tempo adjusted in preparation - and the new track only starting by my own request/decision when previously synced….
Hi @Riff, I’m unable to replicate this on my hardware. Can you please try to capture a short video of the issue and upload it here? Please note the maximum file size is 200MB, so if your video is larger than that, you’ll need to upload it to your Google Drive/Dropbox, enable sharing permissions, then share a link to the file here. Thanks!
thanks for the fast reply! I just created a video but before I uploaded it I (think to) have figured out the correlation:
The behavior is not related in particular to my Mixtour, it happens even without any hardware attached only using touch on the iPad.
Playing around a bit in the settings I found out, that the instant start of synched track only appears when synchronisation is set to „BPM and Beats“. Choosing „BPM only“ works as before.
Is this something new, or did I just not come across it earlier…? Perhaps the update changed my settings without me recognizing this.
I have to withdraw my previous statement: Using „BPM only“ when synching is not the solution: Sync simply does not work properly/at all when activated, which is very annoying in particular on tracks with no constant BPM. And again this is not related to any attached hardware…….
I have it too.
But I got it before the upgrade to 5.3. I have an iPhone and I thought it was such a feature. By pressing the sync, the track starts immediately and syncing is enabled.
However, as it seemed to me, it didn’t always work.
I will test more…
Hi,
I definitely didn ´t have this issue before as being able to „sync“ in preparation - and start the next track on my own request - even vice versa the sides. What bothers me the most at this moment is that sync does not work at all when „BPM only“ is activated. By all means this can ´t be correct.
Perhaps this topic should be posted as Bug. Having switched to the „small“ Mixtour Pro (which is perfect in my regards), precise sync is substantial to use…
Ok, another topic to be considered by engineering: After having loaded up a new track, the first (!) hit of sync button does nothing when in „BPM + Beat“ Mode. It takes a few attempts to have it running accordingly to the beat…
At first I thought that the „instant running“ mode was a feature to consider, but now I am not satisfied at all!
Thanks for the video @Riff. This was very helpful. In the djay Settings>General>SYNC MODE please try enabling Resume Sync After Pause, Scratch, or Cue Jump. This should stop the track from automatically playing.
