Purchased Music uploaded via ITunes Match not showing full playlist.

iPhone 16 pro max / version 18.0.1
iPad Pro 11 inch 4th gen / Version 18.0.1

DJ app version 5.2.4 both devices

I buy music via Bandcamp. Upload my downloads via iTunes Match as this is where I create my playlists.

iPhone is showing all of my tracks in DJ app and works fine but my iPad is only showing 75% and is saying sometimes drm protected.

I make sure all tracks are downloaded to device for offline usage.

I don’t understand what’s going on here. As you can see via photos. One is fully loaded with 492 tracks and iPad only shows 384.

Thanks in advance anyone with help

Hi @Kalapton, thanks for the details about your setup, the issue and the screenshots. This is very helpful.

  1. Are you logged into the iPhone and iPad with the same Apple ID?
  2. Are you using a Mac to purchase and download the original songs, then adding them to iTunes on your Mac then syncing the music to your iOS devices via a USB connection?

Hey thanks for reply

1 yes

2 I purchase most my songs via . Bandcamp . Juno , Beatport or get free DL via soundcloud. I’ve had these songs on my external hard drives for years. But I’ve always uploaded them using iTunes Match in Apple.

I recently had to reset my iPad and just finished setting it back up.

So I don’t understand what Apple Music is doing wit the DJ app.

Hope this info helps more

Any update bro ? All my playlists on iPad are not showing the full amount. My iPhone is perfect and also my laptop djproapp on MacBook is perfect.

And just wanted to update you on how I get my music everywhere, incase you didn’t know.

I pay for iTunes Match a one off fee per year to let me drag any audio file into Apple Music and then upload it to my personal cloud. Apple Music then syncs this with all my ISO devices.

It’s convenient as I can download all my music on my MacBook and drag each mp3/wav file into the desired playlist folder.

That’s why I use Apple local music on DJ app and not Apple Music.

Just thought this info might help you some more

Hi @Kalapton, thanks for the additional details. This is very helpful. I haven’t been able to replicate this on my setup so I’ve forwarded this to our engineering team for review. I’ll report back here when I have news from engineering.
I suspect this is an issue with how iTunes/Music Match is working. Users have reported issues with this in the past.

Are you also subscribed to Apple Music streaming? If so, here’s some more info on an iTunes/Music Match and Apple Music issue that might be helpful as well.

Thanks for reply. I’ll try to find a work around.

I even tried moving all my playlist to iCloud but then I realized DJ app don’t even have a search bar for them folders. Man this app going downhill

Sad times

In my experience, setting up Local Music for DJing on your iOS devices works best if you use the iTunes/Music App on your laptop and sync the music to your devices via USB connection.

Do you have a link on the exact process of this please. As I’ve never tried

Thanks Slak

Hi @Kalapton, this is the process that I use. I recommend in the Sync options that you select Selected artists, albums, genres and playlists instead of Entire music library so you have more control over what music is copies over from you laptop to your iOS device.

Hi @Kalapton, I heard back from engineering, they agreed that this sounds like the Apple Music/Local Files issue, where iOS has marked some tracks as AM tracks and are therefore unavailable/DRM protected. They have suggested that you could try deleting the affected tracks from the Music app on the iPad and then resyncing with your Mac to see if that forces the change. Maybe start with one track and see if that works. Personally, I think it’s a better long term solution to move away from iTunes Match as I have suggested above.

Hello! It’s been more than 10 days since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
