A) SUMMARY OF ISSUE:

  • No signal/level coming from right channel, yet right channel is being routed through left channel.

B) DETAILED STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Upon startup.

C) EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • Right channel used to behave normally.

D) ACTUAL RESULTS:

  • If I access the Djay Pro MIDI menu, then choose “configure …” then “edit configurations” somehow the problem is fixed. I think this causes a MIDI reset?

Postscript: Now I find that I’m getting line noise when I’m running Djay Pro, line noise stops when I quit the software. Also, drats, I now find that I cannot correct the loss of signal on right channel by fiddling with the MIDI settings.

Hi @samdale67, thanks for the detailed info.

  1. Please ensure that both Deck Source switches are set to the correct USB connector you are using on the back of the unit.
  2. In the Audio Devices Settings, please select Reset to Defaults to ensure the audio is properly configured.
  3. Please revert to the (built-in) MIDI mapping for the RANE.

I have complete these steps and nothing seems to have changed. And I’m still getting hum on both lines. I have confirmed that both deck switches are set to A.

Also adding that right channel is somehow coming through the left channel. And like I said before, I’ve been able to correct it by reselecting MIDI mapping, but that has stopped working.

Thanks @samdale67,

  1. Please try a different USB cable. Make sure it is a high-quality, properly shielded one with dual ferrites.
  2. If you are using any USB hubs or adapters, please try connecting directly with the proper cable instead.
  3. If that doesn’t work, please try switching to USB B.
  4. Also, try connecting to a different USB port on your Mac.
