Rane Performer Acapella/Instrumental buttons not working properly in 5.3

With the djay pro 5.3 update, the instrument and accapella button on the Rane performer are not in the correct status sometimes. They will be lit when neither has been selected. Also at times the buttons are not lit when the features is engaged. This was never a problem with previous djay pro versions. Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi @Djsynn,

Thanks for sharing your experience with the v5.3 update.

By any chance have you been using different cables to/from your Mac and the Performer?

Is there anything you have changed about your setup that might help our investigation?

Looking forward to hearing back from you. Have a nice day!

Nothing has changed. I can replicate the issue also when I switch the Rane performer on board effects. If I select echo out on the RP- effects button 1, then switch to effects button 2, the instrumental button will light up, even though I didn’t press it. The instrumental button is otherwise functioning properly, but I can’t trust the lit/un lit state of the instrumental button.

Hi @Djsynn,

Thanks for your detailed follow-up!

I checked in with our team, and it turns out that we made a change in v5.3 to how the Instrumental and Acapella buttons behave. Previously, their lighting was independent, but now they’re linked to the state of the Stems pad mode. For example, if Drums, Bass, and Harmonic Solo are enabled in the Neural Mix bar, the Instrumental button will light up automatically to reflect that state.

Could you let us know if this explanation lines up with what you’re seeing? If not, we’re happy to investigate further!

Thanks again for bringing this up.

Thanks for the information. With this I was able to disable the neural mix settings on the bar. Now the instrumental and accapella buttons are working independently now - I’m a happy camper and thanks for your help on this NathanielAlgo!

This issue is still a problem with the Rane Performer. If I depress the accapella button on the rane performer, the accapella light will turn on - which is correct. If I change the from fx 1 to fx 2, the accapella light will turn off, even though the track is still in accapella. This causes confusion. The light should be on if the track is in accapella regardless of switching effects. This issue is new to Djay pro 5.3. Please let me know how to resolve this or please send me a link to return to v5.2 until this issue is resolved. Thank you!

Thanks for the new info @Djsynn. I will share this with our hardware team and get back to you.

Hi again @Djsynn, can your please try to capture and share a short video of this issue?

Hello! It’s been a week since my last reply. I’m going to consider this topic completed for now so I can focus on others. However, please feel free to respond and we can definitely revisit this. Thanks!
