IPAD AIR M4/MAC MINI M4
Version of djay (e.g. 5.6.9):
Hardware/controllers used (e.g. RANE SYSTEM ONE):
I’m using the SYSTEM ONE’s original Type-C cable to connect my iPad/Mac. The MIDI device interface shows two SYSTEM ONE configurations, but I can’t find the DJAY PRO option in SYSTEM ONE’s SOURCE menu. I’m following the same steps as shown in the YouTube video.
It displays a “SYSTEM ONE” configuration screen, but there are no other options. Also, when I go into the MIDI settings, it doesn’t seem like anything is mapped.
You need to understand that Omnisource doesn’t connect to external devices using MIDI. It’s not like the previous generation, or other types of MIDI/HID controllers.
The word “pretty sure” here is the culprit. People are asking you to look out for v5.2.0 on your RS1, but you’re being mheeeeh
It does not always necessarily mean the subject is correctly answering the question.
Bail yourself out and snapshot your RS1 version #
@Koder Remove your djay pro app and reinstall it. This applies to both OS and iOS. Once completed, your RS1 will configure automatically with djay pro when connected.
Thanks for the setup details @Nandor_Racz. I have moved your comment to this dedicated topic. Please carefully watch this video above from RANE and let me know if that helps with your device setup. Note that you want to connect to the USB-C connection on the RS1 with their supplied cable.
Thanks for confirming @Nandor_Racz. I suggest that you backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay. You can find the files above in the following locations:
iOS: using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
@Nandor_Racz thanks for trying the reinstall, and for the detailed setup info. That helps a lot. Let’s test on the MacBook first so we’re only changing one thing at a time:
Please confirm that you have an active paid subscription for djay Pro on your Mac.
Fully quit Serato DJ Pro and Engine DJ Desktop if either is open.
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessories and make sure the SYSTEM ONE is set to Always Allow.
Connect the RS1’s USB To Computer port directly to the Mac, with no hub or adapter.
Open djay, then press Source on the RS1 and check whether djay shows up.
If it still doesn’t appear, could you post:
A photo of the About / Update page on the RS1, so we can confirm the exact Engine OS build.
A screenshot of Audio MIDI Setup > Window > Show MIDI Studio with the RS1 connected.
Your Mac’s system language. RANE has documented a connection problem with Serato when macOS isn’t set to English, and I’d like to rule that out here too.
