A little bit confused with something relating to the re-link feature.
I had an MP3 file, ripped at 128k…I’ve now re-ripped the track as a high quality M4A. I deleted the original MP3 from my collection and added the M4A.
The tags of both files were slightly different. One word in the artist tag started with a capital letter, and there was an additional tag in the comment field of the M4A that wasn’t present in the MP3; however, djay re-linked the missing MP3 to the M4A.
Is that the kind of behaviour to expect from the re-link feature? As long as the filename “kind of” matches then it re-links?
As I have read in the forum, it seems that DAJY Pro does not manage its own tags or those of the file, but reads those of Apple Music/Itunes.. I promise to have read it in some other thread.
The fact is that in that thread they advised to disable the option that AM/Itunes does not copy the files to their own folder.
I have also seen that DJAY Pro saves metadata in a local path. Check this link in case it could help you check the metadata that DJAY keeps
AM pretty sure the actual filename in Finder has remained the same, so djay knows nothing has changed. Forget about what’s in the id3 tag comments artist or track info. Those ones have nothing to do with file name in finder.
Hi @discoian, sorry for the delayed reply - I was away on vacation. The Title ID that we use compares the lower case version of the Title/Artist so, what you are seeing is expected.
