Hi @Belford_Roxo, yes I changed the topic title as I’m trying to link some other topics related to 15.7.7. Our engineering team has not confirmed this is working with 5.6.6 so I recommend that you don’t update unless you go with Tahoe 26.
So your engineers are sure that Tahoe doesn’t have this problem?
Correct @Belford_Roxo. However, to be safe, I recommend you do a full system backup using Time Machine so you can easily roll back if you encounter an issue that is specific to your setup.
Hi @Belford_Roxo, I spoke with our engineers about this. If you use My Collection can you please try reimporting all your music again via dragging the folder/files from Finder and dropping them into the My Collection Music playlist? This might help as it will recreate the bookmarks, which might work around the problem.
Hi @Slak_Jaw , are they suggesting that I remove everything from My Collection first and then reimport from Finder (instead of having DJay Pro “watching” my Music folder)? And then update to Sequoia 15.7.7 too? Or update first?
Seems like quite a massive and risky procedure for something that “might work around the problem”!
Hi @Belford_Roxo, if you have already downgraded from macOS 15.7.7 and things are working as expected, then it’s probably best to keep things as they are for now.
OK thanks, I think I’ll stick with my current state that works well.
I’ll consider updating to Tahoe maybe later this year.
You’re welcome @Belford_Roxo. Sounds good.
Tahoe works good - no library issues whatsoever (i tried it the first week it came and all was fine but…
Personally, I would only run it if I have silicon processor (am on intel, I saw some OS lagging issues, which secondarily affects apps, and I think my laptop was over-heating)
Secondly, the overall interface (theme) was a turn-off for me (finder was plain black-and-white, and the fons were not too easy to my ageing eyes).
Thirdly, the disappearance of the famous mac “LaunchPad” was the last deal-breaker for me. The “iphone look” had no place on my mac.
For these reasons, nah am good with 15.7.1
Thanks as always for sharing this @Armigo!
